In Between Space is defined in Loose Space by Karen Franck as the possibilities and diversity in urban land. It is the invisible networks established by the individual, a body of experiences from fragmented environments. This supports social and perceptual integration of urban components creating a continuous urban experience. The current placement of buildings and their relationship to the city of Dubai create interstitial space of various scales. Repetitive mundane building masses clearly delineate the in between. In Between Space focuses specifically on one in between space.

My thesis is explored through the methodology of making, an understanding of relationships created through transparent sections that emphasizes mass and void. Colin Rowe states in Transparency that through transparencies a simultaneous perception of different spatial locations is created. In model, the layering and multiplicity of constant sectional intervals between forms, transparency, and opacity creates overlaps of In Between Space.
